Violent Night
An elite team of mercenaries breaks into a family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone hostage inside. However, they aren’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.
I LOVE this movie! It is the perfect combination of Home Alone, Die Hard and Fatman. The tone fluctuates wildly from scene to scene, from sweet holiday comedy to acerbic social satire to intense action and gore, but it all works. David Harbour is amazing as Santa and carries the film as effortlessly as the sack on his back. All in all Violent Night is a must see Christmas movie and has gone strait to the top of my holiday watch list, (second only to Die Hard).
Cons:
It could have taken its cool concept even further, but Violent Night is still a funny, gory good time
Pros:
This film perfectly blends the gore and violence yet still gives you that warm fuzzy feeling a holiday film does.
