TOP GUN: MAVRICK
Set 30 years after its predecessor, it follows Maverick’s return to the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program (also known as U.S. Navy-Fighter Weapons School – “TOPGUN”), where he must confront his past as he trains a group of younger pilots, among them the son of Maverick’s deceased best friend Lieutenant Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.
The best thing about this movie was of course the flight sequences, and the fact that they where all filmed while actually flying in real fighter jets. That’s pretty much the only good thing about this movie. To much time is spent giving us back-story that we already know from watching the first movie. Talking of the first movie, there where to many instances where it felt like we where just watching the original, but worse. All in all, i think that this movie was trying to hard to be something it was not and could never be, that is, the original film.
Pros:
My favorite part of the movie was definitely the final action scene, because of how fun it was to watch.
Cons:
As I said before this movie is just trying to hard to be something it can never be, that is, the original film.
